Soya bean is a rich source of protein, fibre and iron and it is an antioxidant.
From soya bean we had prepared soya milk and tofu.
Today we will prepare soya pancake.
We will soak the soya bean seeds, grind them and we will prepare the pancake.
They are really very tasty and we can have them for breakfast or for kid’s lunch.
Kids will really like it.
So let’s start preparing soya pancake.
Take properly cleaned and washed soya bean seeds - ½ cup.
Soak them for 5-6 hours in water. So it is soaked soya bean.
Oil - 3-4 tbsp. You can also use clarified butter.
Finely chopped coriander leaves - 3-4 tbsp.
Finely chopped green chillies - 2.
1 inch grated ginger or 1 tsp of ginger paste.
Salt - a little more than ½ tsp or to taste.
So to prepare the soya pancake we will need to grind the soya bean seeds.
Pour the soya bean seeds into the mixer jar.
If you want then you can add the green chillies and ginger with the soya bean seeds.
Add little water and grind it.
Soya bean is finally ready and to grind it we have used about less than 1 cup of water.
We will take the paste out of the mixer jar and we will check the consistency.
If more water is required then we will add a little bit more.
So take out the paste in a bowl and the paste is little bit concentrated.
We will have to prepare the paste with consistency as that of the dosa batter.
For that we had to add nearly 1 cup of water.
We have added water while grinding and after pouring it onto the bowl.
our paste is finally ready and it has the perfect consistency.
Now we will add the spices to the mixture.
Add salt, ginger paste, green chilli and green coriander leaves.
Mix all the ingredients well and stir it continuously for 2 mins.
To the hot wok add oil and spread it evenly.
We may require non stick wok to prepare the soya pan cake.
Add 2 tbsp of batter into the wok and spread it thickly using the spoon.
Do not spread it into thin layer and the wok must be medium hot.
we have spread the pancake batter and now we will pour oil to the sides of the batter as well as on the batter.
Cover it and let it cook for 3-4 mins on medium flame
and it will turn golden brown from the lower side. So we will let it cook.
4 minutes are over and we have cooked the pancake on medium flame and it has turned golden brown from the lower side.
Pour some more oil on the upper side and now we will flip it using hands.
we will cook it till it turns brown from the other side without covering it.
it has turned brown from both the sides and now we will transfer it on a plate.
Before making another pancake we will pour oil into the wok and spread it evenly.
Then we will add 2 tbsp of batter and cook until it turns golden brown from both the sides.
Turn off the flame and transfer it on a plate.
They are really soft so you need to be careful while flipping it and transferring it to a plate.
With this amount of batter you can prepare 3 pancakes of the same size.
Tasty soya bean pancake is finally ready.
