Right now we're going to set up different panning options. Now on my screen, panning
is really what--it gives you kind of the position of where it's coming out on the speaker. The
panning really helps you add space to your mix, and just really kind of separates them
so you can hear them better. If you have everything right in the middle of each other, and they're
all in the same position, it's kind of hard to pick out certain things. It kind of gives
a certain position. It kind of adds life to your mix. Now within Pro Tools you have a
couple different options. I mean Logic, sorry. Within Logic you have a couple different options
that you can go to. If you go into the output of any track, there's going to be a couple
options for different types of panning. If you go in here you're going to see like a
surround panning. What you can also do is click on that, and it brings in a little window
that you can adjust what's going on, and how you actually hear it. This is a pretty new
thing that, within Logic, that works pretty great in it. It works really well. You can
also go to another one, which also helps you. Go right here--it's different, but it's the
same type of thing.
