It is possible to define a Contour Polygon for Shells. If a Shell is selected, the Define
Shell Contour command becomes available in the context menu.
If we activate this command, we can either drag a contour manually or we can space-click
on an existing element, this ellipse for example, to define the contour. If we now view the
Shell in 3D, this is the result of creating this contour.
The contour of the Shell is basically an Intersection SEO operator which is part of and is stored
with the Shell data structure.
There can be only one contour polygon defined for any Shell… so if one is defined the
Define Shell Contour will not even appear on the context menu for the selected Shell.
A Contour may be defined for a Shell also in Section or Elevation Viewpoints. Here is
the result of defining a contour in a Section.
A contour may also be defined in 3D.
We select the Shell, activate the Define Shell Contour command of the context menu, then
find the Reference Lines of the Walls, space-click, and the Shell contour is created. Alternately,
we can also draw the contour of the Shell in 3D.
