BuckHunger has organised a benefit concert
to raise funds for feeding hungry children.
The benefit concert took place at BuckHunger's location
in Sangkat Toul Tompong I, Khan Chamkamon, in Phnom Penh.
The idea is to raise money from generous people and organisations
so that BuckHunger can continue to serve food
to hungry children and homeless people.
The founding director of BuckHunger is Johnny Phillips.
The project has been running for almost a year now.
BuckHunger provides a free lunchtime meal every day
for people of all ages who are in need of food.
BuckHunger feeds over 200 such people every day.
According to Johnny Phillips, the project also educates young people
about hygiene and nutrition, aswell as crossing the road safely.
BuckHunger also has plans for more projects,
creating more jobs for people
manufacturing traditional textiles such as krama scarf,
at Sangkat Khoh Dach, Khan Russey Keo in Phnom Penh.
Johnny Phillips appeals to other local and international NGOs
to support and sponsor the project
so that BuckHunger can continue to provide food
for children and homeless people who are in need of nutrition,
and also work towards reducing the big divide
between rich and poor in society.
