[Title] Alliance Medical
[Title] An overview of our mobile scanners
My name's Lynn Millner,
I work for Alliance Medical
as a PET Specialist.
A mobile scanner can be parked up
in any kind of location.
It can be in a hospital car park,
or it could be in a Gala Bingo car park
so, you know, it varies
quite widely.
I know that one of our modalities
does actually visit a racecourse,
so, as I say, it's not necessarily
in the clinical or medical field
that you'd find these lorries parked up.
The mobile environment really is
ideal for providing a service
to patients who don't actually have
access to that facility
via their normal hospital.
So, for example,
if your hospital doesn't have a PET scanner
we could park up outside,
provide the service,
and it just means that you don't
have to travel far afield
to actually have your scan and
have your treatment.
The level of service that you'll get
on the mobiles -
it's exactly the same
as you'd expect in a hospital facility.
All of the staff working on the mobiles,
they're very well trained,
they're very specialist in that particular modality,
and also, as well, in terms of all the
equipment, it's, as I say,
exactly the same
and it's all quality controlled;
we do checks, like major safety checks,
on it at the beginning of the day...
so there's nothing adverse that's going to be happening.
And, as I say, exactly the same
as what you'd expect from a hospital.
