Hello Aktion Gebärdensprache (Aktion Sign Language)
I want to showing. My name is Lars. This is my wife Sibel.
A lot of people know us. Other people not. No matter.
We want talk a little about barrier. About a problem with DB (Deutsche Bahn = German Train)
And me about a movie (not true story movie) made in USA "Source Code". Let's begin first.
Ok. From Hamburg to Hannover I want visit my parents in northrine Westphalia. At Hannover I took at DB-Information a waiting Number. I saw 2 Buttons (wheelchair and Deaf) so I push the Deaf Button.
I think, the staff could speak sign language. I saw my number and went to staff. "I am deaf" "Ah, ok"
The staff gave me paper and pen. I was spechless. I thought the staff could speak sign language.
I wonder, why was the DEAF Button there. Then I wrote on paper what I want.
About 3 months later, the same time to visit my parents.
At DB-Information in Hannover I wonder, there is no Deaf Button anymore, only weelchair.
A staff was talking to me and I told I can't hear. The staff said "press wheelchair Button".
Ok, generally it meant handicaped. But it was better "Deaf Button" for sign language.
See, wheelchair button. Is this a nice signs? No Deaf signs anymore? How do you feel it? Like a handicap person. No, this is not a nice sign.
Related a american movie "Source Code" was not bad. A train door there was a sign for "Deaf"
About Aktion Demo many deaf complains about DB. And I think why not in Germany:
DB should do the same on Waggon a deaf sign = for deaf. And there would be interpreters on TV with sign language for Information, delays etc. Only deaf can be there and the hearing could be go to other waggon. Imagine!
Together we went to DB. Spontaneously he interpreter for me.
I love to help deaf people. My dad is hearing and my mom is deaf. He always interpreters for my mom. So I interpreter for my wife. (Talking to DB-Staff). She push me out and said the staff need to learn communicate with deaf. So I see she have right. Why to help her.
Therefore I don't agree for free interpreters with my husband. It's to easy for staff. This staff need to wake up, to learn sign language or how to comunicate with deafs. Important for deafs.
I ask to my cat: Do you want come to Berlin? Yes?
- Do you want tell anymore? - No, that's all. - I am coming to Berlin too.
