Now I'm going to show you how you can get Google Reader offline. This would probably
be useful mostly for laptop users; who take their laptops different places, so when you
don't have an internet connection; you could still read some stories in Google Reader.
Right now; this was just released at the time I'm making this video, and it will probably
be improved over time. Let me just show you how this works. Just reading from the Google
Help Center; "To get Google offline, you'll need to install Google Gears. After you reset
your browser, you'll have the option to hit this little icon here; this little green down
arrow, and download stories. You see from this little graphic, that it will download
a whole bunch of items; all at once, and then; whenever you're offline, you'll be able to
read them. Just to show you real fast; this option up here is where you can get to the
offline. If you click it; and then it's in the; how you say it, Google Reader for offline
use. Before you begin; you have to install Google Gears, so, just install that. Just
agree and download, and there we go; it's been installed. I'll go ahead, and just restart
my web browser, and I'll go ahead, and allow Google to use Google Gears. I'll click that,
to enable offline web applications.
So, you can see now that I've installed this; it says to use Google Reader in offline mode,
click the icon above. I'll go ahead, and dismiss that message, and there's the little icon.
If I click this; it's going to start downloading stories, and then I'll be able to read them
later; when I do not have an internet connection. So that's how you set up Google Reader; to
view stories offline.
