today we will make papaya paranthas.
for making papaya paranthas we need these ingredients:
dough - kneaded
cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
asafoetida - 1 pinch
salt - as per taste or 1/2 tsp
ginger - 1/2 inch piece (paste)
green chilly - 1 (finely chopped)
coriander powder - 1 tsp
green coriander - 1 tbsp
papaya - 2 (small in size)
oil - for roasting paranthas
peel, grate papaya,add all spices and saute it for few minutes.
stuffing for making paranthas will be ready.
grate the peeled papaya.
now we will fry grated papaya
add 1/2 tbsp oil in pan.
when oil get shot add cumin seeds,coriander powder,green chilly,ginger and saute for while.
now add grated papaya,salt and saute papaya nicely.
if you like eating spicey then add some or 2-3 pinch red chilly as well.
cover and cook on low flame for 2 minutes.
papaya is cooked now add green coriander into it.
stuffing is ready;letit get get frigid then we wil make paranthas from it.
take littel amount of dough,dust with dry flour and roll for making paranthas.
roll into 2-2.5 inch diameter parantha first.
spread some oil on the top.
place 2 tsp stuffing on the top.
lift from all sides and close the stuffing.
flatten it with your fingers.
dust with dry flour and flatten some more with your palms so that parantha don't splatter.
roll the parantha very gently.
dust with dry flour again.
keep the parantha thick and roll parantha into 6-7 inch diameter .
place parantha on preheated tawa.
parantha is roasted from beneath now we will flip the side.
parantha is roasted from other side as well now spread some oil on it.
spread oil on the upper side and flip the side.
spread some oil on this side as well and gently press the parantha.
reduce the flame so that parantha gets crispy and it gets nice brown spots.
parantha roasted on high flame will reamin soggy so for making crusty paranthas roast on low flame.
crusty papaya parantha is ready.
serve these paranthas with aloo tamatar sabzi,aloo rassa,curd,raita,chutney or pickle.
pack them in tiffin of your kids they will enjoy eating them without any sabzi.
