Carlos Rojas is a proud mexican with two passions.
Volunteering and
his love for Mexico.
In the 80s
During Mother Tersa's visit to Mexico
Carlos was a founding member
of Gente Nueva
with national and international projection.
Focusing in creating values in young people.
1995
Motivated by the Zapatista movement
in the sierra of Chiapas
facing abuse
injustice
and extreme poverty
he creates Fundacion de Pueblos Indígenas de México.
This asosiation, in 1999
with the backup of United Nations
becomes Consejo de Pueblos Indígenas de las Américas
with the goal of extending its help
to other countries in America.
Five basic programs:
Health and Hygiene
Alphabetizing and Culture
Development and Sports
Social and Economic development.
Specialized attention to vulnerable groups
like children, elderly people,
women,
sick people,
and people in extreme poverty.
Carlos was named Advisor
in the Indigenous Comision
in the Senate of Mexico
in the last term.
After the lash of Juliette in Mexico
that provoqued devastation in some states
and facing local governments inefficacy
he creates S.O.S. Huracán
with the goal of creating
a permanent network
of trained volunteers
to help with recaudation of money,
clothes and medicine
for delivery in the hands
of the victims.
This foundation has participated
helping in five huracanes
Iris
Stone
Wilma
Paulina and Alex.
With more than 2000 tons of help.
2005
Worried about climate change
and the lack of ecological consciousness
he creates Fundación Para El Medio Ambiente y Cambio Climático
Including in this social endeavour
three basic proposals:
Conscientization campaigns in schools,
Foresting and cleaning slopes,
And "2x1" Share your car.
In recognition of his lavour
he was invited by the venezuelan government
as ambassador of the comunity of American and Caribean Estates
formed by 33 countries.
In charge
of the social and enviromental programs
of this newly formed organism.
Carlos Rojas is a citizen who fights
for a better Mexico.
