bjbjqPqP Edward Schinnerer, Data Manager SAP, STAEDTLER, Germany Edward: My work environment
in STAEDTLER's SAP division is in production planning. Here I am responsible for creating
and modifying material master data, production schedules, parts lists, staffing, and creating
control loops and other master data. Question: What problems did you have with the SAP tool
initially? Edward: Initially we had the following problems with the SAP tool. Since no real
transactions for mass maintenance were available, the maintenance effort related to manual data
entry was tremendous in the early days. Question: What convinced STAEDTLER to buy the Winshuttle
tool? Edward: We were motivated to buy the Winshuttle tool because Winshuttle can automate
manual data entry. Question: What Winshuttle modules are in service at STAEDTLER? Edward:
We use the following Winshuttle modules: Four Transaction licenses, four Runner licenses,
as well as Winshuttle Query, and one Winshuttle Direct license. Question: Do you think there
are any cost-cutting benefits? If so, could you put a number or percentage on them? Edward:
There are cost reduction benefits, but we do not assess them. We do however upload data
that would normally take six hours to enter manually. Thanks to Winshuttle this time can
be reduced to approximately 20 minutes. Question: What other benefits has STAEDTLER seen since
the adoption of Winshuttle? Edward: Other benefits that STAEDTLER has seen since introducing
Winshuttle include the fact that transactions can be addressed, which otherwise cannot be
bulk processed in SAP, for example the quantitative units in the material master file. Also, Winshuttle
is based on MS excel, which is available throughout the entire company. As a result, Excel functionality
can be used in Winshuttle Transaction, which means that functions and macros can be used
as desired. The business unit is able to carry out mass data modifications autonomously in
Winshuttle Transaction. Winshuttle Transaction also offers a backup option of legacy data,
so that adjustments can easily be reversed. Question: How many people at STAEDTLER use
the Winshuttle tool today? Edward: Approximately 20 people at STAEDTLER currently work with
the Winshuttle tool. Question: Do you see potential uses for business process improvements?
Edward: In the SAP system, new modules are occasionally being enabled. The demands regarding
data quality in SAP are continuously increasing. Therefore, Winshuttle Transaction has become
indispensable for us. h=!o urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags country-region urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags
