Workers at the Hellenic Postbank are for five days now out in the streets, striking, mobilizing, and occupying the bank's central building
This is because the troika, the Financial Stability Fund and the Greek government make one last desperate attempt to drive the Postbank to the FSF [the private institution responsible for the banks' financing since 2010]
In this way they attempt to cover the funding gap that they created themselves with the PSI
They say that the Postbank has a 4.5 billion euros financial deficit, but this loss has been caused solely by the Greek bonds' haircut, the PSI.
We workers are not going to allow any FSF, any troika, any government to play with the public good that the Postbank represents
We are here to defend the people's savings, the interests of the Greek people, the interests of the workers
And we demand, whatever solution they find for the Postbank, to take seriously into account the final and unanimous decision of our general assembly that we will not allow not even one employee to be fired from the Postbank
We will not allow them to play with our fate, with the fate of our children and of our families
We will not allow them to create a banking cartel in Greece, which will plunder the Greek people and will restrict the right to banking services to the few.
The Postbank belongs to the people, it has a long history and has gained the trust and love of the Greek people for its contribution to the society and for its contribution to the development of the Greek economy.
