Hi Kids,
Welcome to our Haiku page. I wanted to give you a bit of an overview so that you would
know what the assignment is and how to find everything you need.
If you follow the page all the way down, I tried to organize it in the order that you
would do each part of the assignment.
First, you have an introduction. This part introduces you to what we will be learning
about in the video. If you notice, you only have to watch the video up until 6 minutes
and 20 seconds. If you would like to watch the whole thing, you're welcome to.
Next, you have the video clip from 60 minutes about David Kelley and his company, IDEO.
After you watch the video, there are 2 questions you need to answer before midnight, Sunday
September 15th. To access the discussion, go down to the bottom of this content block,
there is a link to the discussion.
Everyone in the class will post their original post by Sunday, and then you will respond
to 2 of your peers by Wednesday.
So, what kind of things should you say in your response to your classmates? Here are
some of the things that I'm looking for in your thoughtful responses. You can "Present
a new question for discussion to broaden, refine, or redirect the conversation." There
are 8 ways here that you can respond to your peers. It is not enough for you to just say,
"I agree."
To help you know what I am looking for, I have posted a rubric on the bottom, down here.
I have put the due date on the side, so you don't forget. I have also told you the 3 main
things I care about- your original posting, your two responses to your classmates, and
using proper etiquette in your posts. If you're not sure if your post follows the etiquette
that I'm looking for, go back up to the guidelines I put above to help guide you say something
substantial.
As always, you guys can ask me questions in class, email me, or post a question up on
our class discussion board if you're having trouble.
