Our work here is, in my opinion,
quite important, because it gives the opportunity
to young people to study musical idioms which come from distant geographical areas,
which would otherwise be perhaps impossible for them.
And it also provides a forum,
and a central focal point,
for the sharing of different
musical idioms,
and the sharing of different experiences and cultures,
and it serves as a meeting point
for musicians and students
from all over the world.
It is an unfortunate fact
that every time there is an economic crisis anywhere,
the first thing which is done away with,
is usually anything to do with cultural activity,
its equally unfortunate that this is
exactly the opposite of what should be happening,
due to the fact that it is
through cultural activities
and the raising of the level of awareness of people,
through cultural activities
that it is possible actually,
to find a way out of critical situations,
and culture and music can play
a very-very important role in this.
At the Musical Workshop Labyrinth
it's possible for musicians and students from many different countries
and many different backgrounds
to come together and to meet
and to work together in a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere.
In many cases due to cultural
and regional and even political differences,
for some of them this would not be possible,
and that's another reason why,
in my opinion, it is very important
that activities such as the Musical Workshop Labyrinth continue,
thus giving an opportunity
to young students and teachers alike
to sidestep various political and other differences
which would otherwise keep them apart.
