MICKEY DENONCOURT: You got a fast section. So you have a lot of races, a lot of tracks
that you ride where you're going really fast into a section. There will be a bunch of sharp,
little corners for 10 or 15 seconds then more long road sections, and you just keep going
fast to slow, fast to slow, fast to slow. You know, they're intentionally trying to
break your rhythm, trying to slow you down, all that sort of stuff. If you think about
the speed that you're going is something larger than just through one part of the track than
through the whole thing, what you'd realize is that there is you're not breaking up--you're
not breaking it up, slowing down, you know, getting thrown off by going all through these
tight, little sections. What you're doing is you're just getting breaks between all
the times where you really have to pedal hard. So if you think about improving your skills,
your cornering techniques, your line selection so much then when you get to that hard stuff
it's the easy part. It's not just the straight out pedaling until you see blood. It makes
it a lot easier to really enjoy and savor those moments. And you know if you just take
the time to inspect the course before you go out and take the time to go out and practice
your cornering maneuvers and stuff like that, you really start to look for and hope for
the tight stuff and the open stuff is what ties it all together.
