With HP TouchSmart, being a
filemaker has
never been so easy.
From the HP TouchSmart home page, tap the
video tile.
The HP TouchSmart PC features a webcam built into the top center of your
machine.
The little openings on either side of it
are the array microphones. If you need to
you can aim the webcam by tilting your
HP TouchSmart PC with your hand.
Once you're set up, tap Webcam on the bottom of the screen.
A box will open in the center of the screen and
display what the webcam camera sees. In this case, we see the inside of the studio where
this tutorial is being recorded.
You can see our studio camera and film crew,
and of course you can see your own hands, or I guess
our hands.
If you need time to get into
position before the webcam begins recording, you can use
TouchSmart's three second delay feature. Tap the checkbox to turn
this feature on or off. We'll leave
this feature off for now.
Let's record some video.
To start, tap Record. Everyone wave hello.
When you're finished recording,
tap Stop Recording.
To review your video,
tap the Play arrow.
On the right,
Tap Keep to keep the video
or discard to delete.
We like this video, so we'll tap Keep.
To exit the webcam, tap Cancel.
Your new video will show up in the Dates tab
in Today's Videos.
Notice that the name reflects the date
and time when you recorded the video.
If you'd like to delete this file or rename it,
you can do so in Microsoft Windows.
To do this, tap the House icon in the upper left to return to the TouchSmart home page.
Tap the Windows icon to go to the Windows desktop,
tap the Windows Start button,
tap your computer name,
and double-tap the Videos folder to open it.
This is where your webcam videos are saved.
You'll see a thumbnail of the webcam video we recorded
with the date and time as the file name.
Touch and hold the file name and a circle will start to form around your finger.
Release your finger when the circle is complete.
This does the same thing as right-clicking on a mouse.
From the menu that appears, select Rename.
You can rename the file using the keyboard, or with
touch using the Input Panel.
We'll show you how the Input Panel works in another video.
For now, we'll just rename
this file using the keyboard.
There we go.
Let's look at one last thing.
Tap the HP TouchSmart House icon in the taskbar to go back to HP TouchSmart.
Tap Video to go back into TouchSmart Video,
and let's tap the webcam video we created.
In some regions you can upload your videos directly to YouTube right from
HP TouchSmart.
All you need is a YouTube account and an internet connection.
Then, simply tap the Upload to YouTube button,
enter your account information on the right,
and then follow the onscreen instructions to share your videos
through YouTube.
Creating and enjoying your videos is fun and easy using HP TouchSmart.
