There are children in Lancashire ready to be adopted now. We’re actively looking for
the adoptive parents they need. They’re waiting for people like you. As we’ve seen,
it’s not for everyone, and it’s right that there’s a very thorough process to
go through. But you could make an enormous difference to a child, by giving them a loving,
caring home. We’ll make things as easy as possible for you, and support you at every
stage. If you are thinking of adopting, and you feel it might be right for you, get in
touch with us at Lancashire County Council. We’ll be happy to answer any question, have
an informal chat, or give you confidential advice. Or, you could drop into one of our
adoption information events to find out more. Adoption has been extremely rewarding. You
couldn’t put a price on what I have gained out of it. To have a little girl say “dad”;
to say “mum” to my wife, is one of the most enjoyable feelings you can have. To know
that a child looks to you and only you for help and support, for comfort, for love, is
a fantastic feeling. Her life has changed so much. To be adopted, and now within our
family structure, has meant that she can put down foundations. She can build relationships.
It’s changed for her from being a child who came from a particular background, who
was not very confident at doing anything, to now being a little girl who involves herself
with everything she can within her life. She enjoys being a little girl – our daughter
– and having a mum and dad who love her. That means a great deal to her.
Thank you mum and dad. I’m so happy because of you. I love you.
