The Alexander quartet has been a quartet for as long
as we've, like since we've been born essentially
There's a life experience
and there's several things that they tell us
practical advice that you wouldn't even think of
to do, and these things have set us up
and, just like David, I'm a little
you know, it's a little scary
but we do feel like we have
good glue on our wings to get through it
and there's just an invaluable amount of
information and expertise given there to us.
We've benefited from great teaching.
>> What does he say?
>> [Inaudible]
>> What does that mean?
>> Get fast, more excited or something.
>> Little by little.
>> [Inaudible] is an interesting marking because it means to add on, I think
to augment, to get faster, get louder
get stronger, get more sustained.
>> What is he talking about. How loud is this piano?
Is it closer to a hike up, or is it
really closer to that [inaudible] dynamic you just came from?
I would say aim for the low end so you really have room to just go for it
and you can help the crescendo also by getting more [inaudible] with your quarter notes.
Really connect every single note.
>> I'm kind of craving this slight dynamic shift
just a tiny hint of something that...[inaudible] after the third bar.
>> OK
>> And even then...
