When selecting a personal trainer there are a lot of things to take into consideration.
You want to make sure you select a professional personal trainer. In my opinion the only way
to do that is to interview a number of trainers. It’s probably best to interview a few personal
trainers, a few personal trainers on the phone and then make a final selection from the personal
trainer you chose on the phone. At that point you want to make sure your personal trainer
arrives on time, that he has a list of his policies and procedures and how he conducts
his business and that he has a program that fits your needs. You also want to make sure
a personal trainer has the proper credentials which are his education which could be a four
year degree or certification from a nationally accredited agency such as American Counsel
in Exercise or American Counsel in Sports Medicine. Another thing to take into consideration
when selecting your personal trainer is personality. You want to make sure you feel comfortable
around your trainer because you’re going to be spending one to three hours a week with
him. When interviewing your personal trainer you should ask for references if they have
them. Also, when trying to find a personal training you can contact some of the nationally
accredited organization such as the American Counsel in Exercise, the American Counsel
in Sports Medicine or the International Sports Sciences Organization. Some of these organizations
have great databases of personal trainers and you can find a personal trainer in your
city.
