bjbj @MV#2 Welcome to the ETD tutorial Series by the Florida International University Graduate
School. This tutorial will show you how to properly embed equations with Microsoft Word
2010. Note: other versions of word use the same program. In the 2007 and 2010 versions
of Word, Microsoft introduced a new way to insert Equations. If you go to the Insert
Tab, you ll see the Equation tool. Try not to use this option. In some cases the fonts
do not convert properly when the library converts the document to PDF/A. If you can help it,
go under the Insert tab go to the Object drop down and click on the object option. In the
list choose Microsoft Equation 3.0 and from here you ll get a toolbar to insert equations.
