Hurricane Sandy overwhelmed the coastal city of Seaside Heights, New Jersey, with National
Guard video footage showing rows of homes submerged in water, 50 feet of Funtown Pier
collapsing and the boardwalk being badly damaged.
As Sandy continued to batter the Eastern Seaboard on Tuesday (October 30), castmembers from
MTV's "Jersey Shore" weighed in on the devastation that arrived on the doorstep of the town where
the show spent four seasons filming on location.
"Sandy destroyed Seaside ó our second home," Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi said in a statement
to MTV News. "It's devastating to see our boardwalk and favorite spots ruined. My prayers
go out to everyone affected by the storm."
"My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy, especially our
friends and family in Seaside Heights," Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio added. "A huge thank
you to all the men and women who have been working around the clock to protect and help
everyone, true heroes!"
"Over the last few years, it feels like Seaside Heights has become my second home," Vinny
Guadagnino said. "My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was affected by this
disaster in Seaside and all across the Northeast. I'm here to support in any way I can."
"This is a devastating time for the East Coast and my prayers are with everyone," added Jenni
"JWoww" Farley. "I am thinking about my second family at the Jersey Shore and know that we
can rebuild and come back stronger."
"The impact Hurricane Sandy had on the Jersey Shore is beyond devastating," Sammi Giancola
said. "So many families and homes were destroyed and my heart and prayers go out to everyone

Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday. Flooding was rampant all the way through several houses and Route
37. Businesses were damaged as well.
The "Jersey Shore" cast also took to Twitter to express their thoughts and sympathies for
the area.

Snooki tweeted,. "We are all fine here," she added.
"Seeing seaside and what has happened in my hometown is beyond devastating," wrote Sammi.
"I have no words."

Chief Boyd of Seaside on the news risking his life to save people," he tweeted.
"This is crazy living there for 4 summers & seeing in such disaster!"
