I'm George Weiblen and I'm a professor in the Department of Plant Biology and a
curator at the Bell Museum of Natural History
I'm the chair of the fungal evolution cluster
the plant fungal evolution cluster represents an excess
interdisciplinary science
opportunity to discover through diverse approaches
we're looking to recruit new faculty working at the cutting edge of fungal
evolution
who also bring research in areas such as genomics,
population genetics, molecular evolution,
phylogenetic systematics, and cellular biology, biochemistry,
secondary metabolism, and molecular ecology.
We see a wealth of opportunity at the University of Minnesota
for collaborative research within our plant fungal evolution cluster
as well as interactions among other research clusters
and other units at the University. Including
the USDA serial disease lab the Bell Museum
the academic health center; In many areas a basic
and applied research affecting human health, agriculture, ecosystem services
