JOHN CARSTARPHEN: Hi, this is John Carstarphen for Expert Village. And with lighting, you
have to do a lot of test rendering. It's--you set up a light, you render, you set up a light,
you render. There's a lot of that that happens in 3D, so be prepared to constantly, constantly
check and test relighting with each move you make. And so, we have a nice rim light on
the back of her shoulders. And now let's add a bit of fill light to the other side of her
face.
And what we're doing here is essentially just--a very basic three point lighting setup.
And there we have it, we have a key light which is different from an omni-light because
it gives a very--it gives a much softer throe. The shadow under her chin is not quite so
pronounced. The spread of the light is even, across the front of her body, which is why
we put the light in the array. We have some light on her hair, we have some light on the
chair behind her, and we have a nice rim light coming down this side of her face, and also
a little bit on this side and down her arm on this side.
