One of the things that the admissions committee will factor in the admissions process
is the ACT or SAT.
Each test is a little different, but BYU will accept either one. If you have taken both,
the admissions committee will only factor the highest composite
score of either exam.
You can also take the test as many times as you need,
and BYU will only factor the highest achieved score. Keep in mind that BYU
does not combine individual section scores from any test.
It only takes the single highest composite score into consideration.
Also, BYU will not consider the writing portion of either test.
Your chances for getting accepted will not be affected if you have or have not
taken the writing portion of either ACT or SAT. Even after you have
met the priority deadline,
which is December 1st, you can still send another ACT or SAT score.
The latest score that BYU will accept is the December ACT or SAT
Also remember that in order to meet the priority deadline, you must have at least
a SAT or ACT score on your application.
You can see that BYU has received your your score by checking the
status page.
Study hard, and good luck.
