Hey this is Kim Constable and you are watching WAHM TV, your one stop shop for support and
training, and this is work at home Wednesday.
*************** ADVERTISEMENT ************
And this week's question comes from Laura and Laura says "Dear Kim, I just love work
at home moms TV and eagerly await each Wednesday so that I can watch each episode your content
is informative, relevant and address an issues that I am struggling with currently or have
struggled with the past. So my question is how do you do it, how do you write such great
content that hits the nail right on the head. I do have a blog on my website and I do update
it regularly but some time I struggle with knowing what to write. So any advice that
you could give me would be appreciated. Love Laura!"
Free content such as that on your blog is a great way to establish your expertise in
a certain area and if it is done in a very professional manner that is full of sparkle
then people are going to be gagging to see what you have that they have to pay for. Because
they are going to say "OMG if she is giving away this for free can you imagine what you
would get if you become a customer." That is what you are aiming for. So don't hold
back your very best material. If you wow people for free they will be more likely to part
with the hard earned cash for your goods and services. So don't hold out on your very best
material because if you wow people with your free stuff they are far more likely to part
with their hard earned cash.
Take WAHM TV for example, I am the only work at home mom giving away free training on a
weekly basis and I hold back in these episodes, I never oh I will keep that for the premium
members, no I want to deliver real value to work at home moms all over the globe.
My challenge with WAHM TV is trying to condense all of the knowledge I want to give you guys
into a relative short space of time. But I never ever hold back on their goods, I want
to share as many strategies as I possibly can which is why I put on a single episode
every week.
So Laura grab a pen because I am about to give you 3 of my top strategies for writing
great content that is going to sparkle.
STRATERGY 1: Create your target customer profile: so what I want you to do is after this episode
take out a pen and paper and spend out 30 minutes, writing your target customer profile.
I want you to include everything age, gender where they live, what their income bracket
is their family situation everything. This character will be entirely fictional but it
will help you create a real picture in your mind so remember to write down every single
thing about your ideal customer that you could think of.
STRATERGY 2: Pretend that you are your customer: otherwise known as try them on baby. Here
I want you to drill write down to what makes your customer to tick. So I want you to sit
down and meditate on your customer and really think, if I were this person what would my
deepest fears be, what would I be struggling on a daily basis, what would keep me awake
at night, because if you try someone on, if you allow yourself to go there you can feel
exactly what they can imagine they would be feeling and although you can never know for
sure quite often your hypothesis about how that person is feeling is correct.
And just by doing this exercise you will be doing content that really addresses their
deepest fears and they will feel that they are truly understood by you.
STRATERGY 3: Make your business part of the solution. For example if you are a massage
therapist and you specialize in pre natal massage you could write an article on the
5 biggest mistakes that pregnant women make when entering their trimester.
If one of the solutions is to get a regular massage by a qualified pre natal massage therapist
i.e. you. Now remember your goal is to create a valuable education that relates to your
product and service as well as solving a problem.
And now I want to hear from you, what are your best content creation tips, have you
developed a killer strategy that makes that means you are always churning out valuable
content that your customers love.
