JOE WALSH: I represent the district in Illinois. We need help. When it comes to gun rights
nationwide, we are in embarrassment. We are all alone on that island, without the ability
to defend ourselves. That’s criminal, it’s outrageous, and it’s beyond embarrassment.
I am tired of laughing about it. It’s criminal and I think you are going to begin to see
people around the country, hopefully, begin to put pressure on Illinois politicians to
save us.
We are alone at sea right now. Right now Illinois does not have any conceal carry legislation
period. When Wisconsin annexed their legislation, we will be all alone. We came very close last
session to passing conceal carry legislation. It’s not a partisan issue in Illinois; it’s
more of a pro-kill issue.
People in Illinois need to work their representatives, Republican and Democrat. We were three-some
short last time. It will get done next time but it’s only going to happen if there’s
pressure among people in Illinois and that’s actually one bright thing we’ve got going
for us right now is there is a burgeoning grassroots movement when it comes to gun rights
in this state.
