What is a mini facelift? Well, a mini facelift is just really a small facelift. Normally,
it has a much more limited scar.
A full facelift scar goes in the temple, in front of the ear, and goes behind the ear
and into the hairline. A mini facelift procedure -- and there are lots of different types of
these -- don't typically have the scar behind the ear.
The focus with the mini facelift, which gives a much more natural result and is generally
done slightly earlier, really the age of 45, is to gradually reverse the aging changes,
rather than a full facelift, which is generally done slightly later, 55 onwards, which has
additional scarring and can produce a much more dramatic change.
Most of our patients want a very natural appearance. So that's why mini facelifts are gaining in
popularity.
