To cook the horse gram, you'll need to take a potful of it
Fill the pot with water
Close the lid
Put the pot in the fireplace
Cover the whole fireplace with lots of hay or dry grass
Now, top the whole thing off with ash
Light the fire and let it burn for 12 hours
Remove the pot after 12 hours
Now, drain out the horsegram broth that's left in the pot
The horsegram broth will be used to make our dish
Ingredients required to make Horsegram Soup (Ulavalu Charu)
Horsegram, Chopped Onions, Tamarind, Green Chilli, Curry Leaves
Dry Chilli, Cumin Seeds, Mustard Seeds, Salt & Oil
Now, let's see how to make the horsegram soup
Take a pan with the horsegram broth and heat it
Add chopped onions, green chilli, tamarind and rock salt
Let it simmer for 10 minutes
Add a few curry leaves and wait another five minutes
Turn off the stove once the broth is thick
Take another pan and heat some oil
Add dry chilli, mustard seeds, cumin seeds & curry leaves
Add this to the horsegram soup and mix it well
Take the soup into a serving bowl
