Hey fellow Gizmodians, Abhi here, today i'm going to be doing a review of the ubiquitous
Samsung Galaxy S3. Now I know this has been done to death already, so I'm going to
tackle this from the perspective of a video junkie.
So first things first, I obviously have to mention this beautiful 720p,
4.8 inch, Super AMOLED screen.
Everything's crystal clear, the blacks are black, the colors pop, and it really makes
for an amazing experience.
Secondly,
the ability to drag and drop, and the native multi-codec support make this a Godsend. Whatever you throw in here
it'll play without any hassles.
This even includes Full HD content, and let me show with a 1080p
sample clip from The Avengers.
Now I don't know if you can tell how amazing this is over the camera, but let me assure you, it is
really quite spectacular. Thirdly,
with the S3 you'll never be wanting for storage space, for example; I have a 32gig
phone, with a 64gig micro-sd card, which puts me at around
96 gigs. But if that's still not enough for you the S3 also supports USB On-The-Go
functionality, which means you can plug in a USB drive into the
phone, using an adapter, and transfer things directly to and from the phone.
Now last but not least, the battery will give you about 8 to 9 hours of video watching per charge,
which is quite impressive for a screen of this size and
quality
but if that's still not enough juice to keep you quenched, you can always go for a refill.
Now I know I might make it sound like this is the most perfect phone ever, but I do
have one gripe with it
and that is that the internet uses alot of battery, and
this is a combination of the 3G radio not being very power efficient, and also
AMOLED screens not being as efficient with white screens as they are with dark
ones.
But you can very easily mitigate the problem with this battery here.
So that's my mini-review, thanks for watching, and please vote for me.
