Hi! This is C.J. South representing expertvillage.com. In this clip, I am just going to finish up
talking about navigating through the browser. Now there is no label to it so that is going
to be none. Label 2 is just another text box so you can label it whatever you want. You
then have your audio options whether it is mono or stereo and for sequences it has how
many outputs. Your frame size which is just about all the time going to be 720 x 480 unless
of course you are working on HD or HDV or if you are working on wide screen 16 x 9.
Video rate that is going to be 29.97 frame per second. That is digital video which will
also be 720 x 480. That changes if you are using HD because you can up crank the frame
speed on it. So when people say 30 frames per second for digital video, they really
mean 29.97. It is just much easier to round it up. Again, the compressor next to it now
is just telling you what the compression type is. Also if you want to extend these sections
up here, you can actually get in between 2 sections and you can click, hold and drag
to make it larger. So you can see my compressor is NTC and it is DV/DVC pro. It is DV so that's
why this selection is selected. Now you notice when I clip data rate here, that you have
this up and down arrow. Basically what that tells you is that it works just like the name
section does. You are rearranging it by the highest value to the lowest value. Data rate
basically is like when you are capturing in video. It tells you how much space is taken
up per second. So DV is 3.6 megabytes per second. HD would be much higher, HDV would
be much higher as well. Then of course your audio rates and kilohertz; standard for DV
is 48, your audio format whether it is 16 bit or 8 bit. Alpha, I'm not really going
to cover this too much. If your graphic has an alpha channel this is where you can tell
it to ignore it, allow it or convert it. An alpha is like blank space within a video clip.
It is white information but I am really not going to explain it for you. Here you go,
next to it is reverse alpha so you can just check that and it will reverse to alpha. Then
you have composite, pixel so there's a ton and all you need. Those are all the important
ones even if they are important. You most likely will not need to look at that.
