This technique is for a rotator cuff injuries, rotator cuff can be a very complicated injury,
and this is one technique that may help with that
First I've applied a general shoulder pain taping technique
Next i'm going to take a second piece of tape
and tear it off the roll
We're going to split that tape all way down
to the anchor point
and the tape will stop in the proper spot.
I'm going to tear off the anchor point
and to apply this,
I'm actually going to find the bony prominence on top of the shoulder which is the acromium process
and come just
to the outside of that, and just down slightly
and you should feel soft tissue right there, that is approximately where your rotator cuff
tendon is, and that may be tender
I'm going to lay the anchor point
over that spot
again no tension, I'm rubbing it to create a little friction, and some heat to get the adhesive to stick.
just tearing up the paperbacking to make this a little bit easier
I'm actually going to feel towards the back, on top of the shoulder blade.
You'll feel a ridge of bone that is actually the spine of the scapulae
I'm going just below that point
putting good tension on the tape there, seventy five to one hundred percent, and I'm going to have the patient actually
pull their shoulder blades back just slightly
as I, with full tension, lay this tape down
going towards the spine, and then downward just before you reach the spine.
With the second piece
we use the same technique. Full tension, I'm laying that down
across the shoulder blade and down.
Laying the Tails down with very little tension
I'm rubbing that on
Have the patient move to make sure that feels comfortable
you're good to go
