This video explains how to submit a job using the upload page that is new in MG-RAST v3.2
We hope you find the uploader simple and convenient to use.
As you can see, submitting a job has two parts: prepare data and data submission. Each part has several steps and your
job will begin only after all steps are complete.
Let's take a quick look at what each step accomplishes before going into detail.
Prepare data, step one. We strongly encourage submitting metadata. In this step you can download
a metadata spreadsheet template and fill in
appropriate content for your job.
Prepare data: step two. In this step you will select and upload files from your
computer to MG-RAST.
You can upload sequence files, barcode files,
and completed metadata spreadsheets.
The files will be temporarily held a storage area called your inbox.
Prepare data, step three. In this step you can prepare sequence files in
basic ways such as uncompressing and
demultiplexing,
and you can also view summary statistics.
Data submission, step one. Here you will select the metadata spreadsheet that you have completed for your job submission
Data submission, step two: here you will select a project name
to hold your new job submission
either an existing project or a new project.
Data submission: Step three. Here you will select the sequence file or files to submit for processing.
Data submission: Step four. Here you will set processing options for your job. Data submission final step. Here you will finalize your job by choosing its privacy status and then clicking on "submit job."
