jbjb1 Alright chapter number one you want to decide the way because I think this is
probably the best decision I made and that is do you want to have an indoor boot camp
or an outdoor boot camp? And absolutely I would say you want to have an indoor boot
camp for a couple of reasons. Number one let s start with permits. Unless you know someone
that works for the city or for the county if it is County Park now there is a difference
permits can be kind of a pain to get. And for some of these permits you have to get
them monthly so you have got to go back get another permit. To be quite honest with you
I remember in my boot camp I never got a permit I only have done outdoor boot camps for two
months at a time. The first two months that I started and the two months at the summertime
after I had done four years worth of indoors because I wanted to accommodate some people
that wanted to have night outdoor classes. And I will tell you aside from the people
which are great you know the clients were great it was not worth it from the energy
standpoint. So if you have an indoor facility odds are you have an agreement with the owner
and you do not have to worry about going back and forth to get a permit to use that facility.
Number two equipment. If you bring your own equipment it is a pain to get from your car
to the field and even if it is close you know people are not always conscious of dropping
weights or even just weights just getting dirty just for the fact that they are outside
and presentability is a big thing when you have your own business and when you have chipped
dumbbells or when you have dirty medicine bowls or dirty dumbbells it just doesn t look
good nobody wants to touch them and it is like being in the gym you know if you see
something dirty you do not want to be near it. So the weights getting chip dirty or wearing
down the lock weakening the wood if you were indoors is another point. Last but not least
excuse me that s a text. Last but not least obviously you want to worry about weather.
I went to a conference by Bedros Keullian he was a great resource if you want to check
him out. Went to a conference in California I met a lot of trainers in the west coast
who liked to do their boot camps outside you know all year round maybe the weather is a
little bit more conducive to outdoor boot camp out west. But I will tell you on the
day we wanted training it s a pain I and my indoor boot camp use music and I use some
other electronics that I will talk about alter and it is very stressful to start seeing the
raindrops coming down you have to pick up your stuff, you ve got to run everything to
your car, then you ve got to get your weights which are already dirty and soggy, you ve
got to cancel your class, you ve got to make it up. When you do indoors there is no make
up, there is no bringing weights back and forth because your weights are always there
and I m going to speak about how to setup an indoor facility for very very little money.
m very much against anybody starting in a stand-alone just because I don t think that
you need to have a standalone to make a better than decent living a very short of amount
of time especially when you re first starting out because you don t have a lot of money
to work with and even if you do who says you have to spend it? So outdoor versus indoor
absolutely outdoor a lot of videos are going to based on outdoor boot camp. Hold on, wait
a minute I ve realized as I was doing the editing that I said outdoor when I meant to
say indoor excuse the slip you definitely want to go indoor, indoor, indoor, indoor
I am going to repeat it about ten times over. So those of you that are wondering where did
I get that chair because it s awesome I got it at IKEA you can t beat it, back to what
I was saying. I have indoor you know for the past two years I have not had a problem, I
have had minor, minor problems which was a case where you know we had a crazy snow storm
and then I had to cancel class for a week because there was no power. But that is in
no way any comparison to the outdoor boot camp where you know obviously if you re on
the east coast especially the north east once your hit the winter months or even into the
fall they are not camping because if you have an early boot camp it s darker out there,
it s colder it m just very much against outdoor boot camps if you couldn t tell by now. You
know occasionally if you want to do an outdoor boot camp you can but I think it s a harder
sell personally you know they(your clients) may be interested to go outside for like the
first couple of weeks. After awhile the wind starts coming on them your clients and you
as a trainer I would not go back to outdoor boot camps you would have to really, really
threaten me with something horrible to make me do an outdoor boot camp. So if you are
going to take anything away from this, go indoor if you ve never trained a boot camp
before and you are in a gym take the opportunity to some aerobics classes, get your feet well
with training groups before you start to approach an indoor facility and actually start to put
money down but you have an opportunity to train people if you are in a big box gym you
know teach some classes, teach them for free the owners don t have to know that you re
trying to groom yourself to be a boot camp trainer and you may even interest some clients
there. So indoor boot camp alright I m going to show you how to do it stay tuned. h'TQ
