Hi dear friends
My name is Kamil KAYA from ORET
He is my friend and administrator at ORET
Name is Levent AKGÜL from ORET
We are going to talk about nPWM method Mos-fet Motor Driver and we are going to try it.
First of all, we want to define all components
This is a Power Supply and this has about 1000W electrical power. This is manufactured by TDK Lambda.
That is 7.5Kw brushed electric motor and that is manufactured by Perm
Perm PMG 132 DC Brushed Motor and it has about 110A max. working current.
It can work between 12V and 72V
In here, we have main microcontroller unit and mosfet unit
and we will create PWM with mosfets
and we are using PIC16F877 for microcontroller at 20 MHz and we are sending pulse to mosfets at 50KHz with PWM.
but if duty range is wide than %90, we change trigger method from PWM to nPWM so we take DC current from output (Motor Contacts)
Now, we are going to see it, are you okay!
Do you measure current?
Yes we do, I connected a ammeter on system
In here, we have a mini speed pot and this is only a test circuit
Yes, I'm increasing speed step by step from potantiometer
Now, I feel vibration on motor
at 50 KHz
Now, as you can see, the first motion is started.
The system is using about 2 Amper
:)
If speed potantiometer high than 90%, output is DC volttage
Now, motor rpm will be about 2250 rpm
Now, driver output is DC
But now, mosfets work a different method
