Today,
I will show you
ten secrets of the new Brazilian real bills of R$10 and R$20.
In the past year I recorded a video
showing the secrets of the new Brazilian R$50 real bills.
They are very similar to those bills,
but now I got a much more powerful lens.
And I think the video will be so cool.
The first secret is the material with which the Brazilian real bills is made.
The bills are made of the "fiduciário" paper.
It is much more resistant,
but is also more rugged than regular paper.
This you can see in detail of the camera.
Visibly you can understand that the paper is much more rugged.
The second secret are the drawings that fit one in other.
If I bend the banknote,
and attach one end to the other,
the design on one side will fit with the other side,
as if it were something continuous.
This occurs on both sides, both in banknote R$10
as in banknote R$20 reais.
The third secret is the high relief.
If you run your finger in this part where it says
"República Federativa do Brasil",
or here in these sheets on the side
you'll notice that the paint is a little higher than the paper.
The fourth secret are the small numbers.
Paper money of R$10 is full of ten numbers
scattered everywhere,
but it is very difficult to see with the naked eye.
Like the R$ 20 bills is full of little numbers twenty.
We can see these numbers with our super lens.
The fifth secret are the watermarks.
Watermark is one thing we can see
when we look at the banknote against the light.
In note R$10 you will see a macaw and the number 10 below.
In banknote R$20 will show the golden lion tamarin and the number 20 below.
When making the banknote, the dark half of the golden lion tamarin
is the thick part of the paper and half clear
is little thin.
The sixth secret is the puzzle,
this drawing here in the corner
that looks like a football field.
Looking up to the light you can see
the number twenty in the banknote R$20, and the number ten, in banknote R$10.
This happens because the design is on one side of the banknote
mingles with the design on the other side,
and then you can see the number that is forming.
The seventh secret is the security thread.
This thread is a small black ribbon that is inside the paper
and you can also see it when you put the note up to the light.
One cool thing is that this ribbon in banknote R$20
is written twenty reais and in banknote R$10 you can see ten reais.
The eighth secret is the hidden number.
This number is in that part of the banknote.
You can only see it when you look at the banknote at that position,
Positioning the money paper horizontally.
It will show the number ten, in banknote R$10, and the number twenty in banknote R$20.
The ninth secret – I think it’s the very cool – is the fluorescence.
This secret is a number that is hidden here in banknote R$10 and banknote R$20 in here.
And you can only see it with the help of a blacklight.
Another thing that is also pretty cool
are tiny threads that also react with the blacklight.
The tenth secret is one of the most discussed by the Brazil's Central Bank because
is very hard to reproduce.
That secret is these numbers in the corner of the banknote that change color. 67 00:03:31,312 --> 00:03:33,938 The colors alternate between green and blue.
The blue is very dark, almost black.
In the moment you change the paper money position,
You will able to see a green band passing up and down on the number. 71 00:03:44,825 --> 00:03:48,974 Just to remind you, these are not exactly secrets of the banknotes.
They are security devices.
It is very important that people know these devices
for not to accept counterfeit banknotes.
These devices are virtually impossible to be copied
all at the same time by a forger.
The Brazil's Central Bank which is what produces the banknotes in Brazil.
And wishes to disclose these secrets for people to know them.
This provides greater security for our beloved currency, the Real.
