Margaret Layden: A few of the volunteers are absolutely at the heart of the community and
our services have all been developed at our volunteers from parents, from children, from
families and adult people within the community and I think that within communities that people
have so much to offer within the community, there’re so many skills right across ages
and across areas and that just to bring all of them together is actually the little bit
makes our community, I think it needs to end lot better.
Aubrey Douglas: [IB] through basically word of mouth and I stay in East End of Glasgow
and when I was talking to one of my friends they had actually said there’s an organization
in the East End of Glasgow that does help the community and I thought well, I need to
find out about how this organization helps community, be sure if they could help me.
Margaret Douglas: This has given me a lot of confidence. I was able to do a course,
an activate course that I thought I could never do. I volunteered in the beginning to
do maybe for a week, two weeks at the most but before I knew it I had done 12 to 14 weeks
and at the end of it, I went to the university with my daughters and I felt chuffed because
I got my certificate and that was it.
Theresa Douglas: Confidence which is said it’s actually what people may think you
should have a lot of confidence if you have to say it. Alright then, when I had Chantal
and didn’t work I phoned Good Heart to home I’ve got to get back and to work again so
Playbusters gave me confidence to think you know what, I can add to my CV and I really
can put myself across to people by not doubting myself so it gave me confidence to do it.
I learned a lot of things, new skills I’ve added to my CV like child care, child supervision,
just there’s a lot of things I added to my CV.
Andy Forrester: This Playbusters has made me as career a bit because although I’ve
had a good leave but it’s actually got better since I’ve been with Playbusters ‘cause
I’ve met so many friends and I’m really getting involved although I’ve got a large
family in Moorland but I’ve got all great young friends and maybe that I wouldn’t
[IB] if I never had been with Playbusters so that’s been great for me and this is
really a happy part in my life.
