I remember the first time he tried to take a step.
It probably took him 15 minutes to do it by himself.
We did most of our early training on the treadmill
because it was the only way I could get him enough repetition,
enough practice, where he could begin to step on his own.
I love my work. I always have...
and every now and then you meet someone like Sean.
I've had lots of wonderful patients, but not too many people like Sean,
that change you, that change your life, and change your perspective.
He made me realize how important courage is, and persistence,
and setting unbelievable goals for yourself.
He doesn't see himself as having limits,
that he can do whatever he wants to do, and I love that.
