Hi, in this video I'm going to show you how to set up your new BT Smart Audio Baby
Monitor.
To get set up you will need your baby monitor, its power cord, and an iOS device. I'm going
to use my iPhone but you can also use an iPad or iPod touch-- the set up is exactly the
same for all three.
You will also need a wi-fi router. Now obviously I'm a bit biased, so I'm using my BT Home
Hub but any major brand will do. Make sure you have the name of your network, and if
it has a password, you'll need that too.
As we go through this set up, you will occasionally see a screen like this with a list of icons.
These screens are usually a good place to pause the video so that you can gather the
items or follow the steps before the next instruction.
Ok, so the first step is to plug the power chord into the baby monitor.
You will hear a click when it's all the way in.
Then plug it into the socket. Now you'll need to wait for up to minute or two until
the baby monitor gets ready. The light will flash green and amber when it's good to
go.
Now you will need to go to the app store, search for 'BT BabyAudio' and download
the free app.
Once you have downloaded the app, press the 'settings' icon, then press the 'wi-fi'
icon. Then select the BT Smart Baby Monitor network"
You can find the network name at the bottom of the baby monitor.
Once the tick mark comes up next to the baby monitor network, hit the home button on your
smart device and open the BT Baby Monitor App. The baby monitor will take about 30 seconds
and look for the best wi-fi network. A list will come up and you can select your network.
If your network has a password you will have to input it now and then click join. Now the
baby monitor will take about another 30 seconds and let you know when it's connected to
your network.
And there we are. Your monitor should be ready to use. By the way, if you want to connect
to a hidden network, scroll down to the bottom of the network list and click 'other'.
Then you will need to enter the network name and password. And that's it.
Go ahead and click 'start listening' and you're good to go.
