Do bodybuilders do ab workouts everyday?
You don’t have to do abs every day, but a lot of body builders do work on their abs
each day.
Why?
If you have massive arms but a flabby stomach, no one takes you seriously. Six pack abs are
the basic measure of fitness.
You’re right. No one would respect a guy with massive arms and a beer belly.
And it is easy to do fifty sit ups while waiting for a particular workout machine.
But that isn’t the only way to work on your abdominals.
No, of course not. Guys may do leg raises, crunch machines or a bunch of other exercises.
It is hard to imagine a row of guys doing leg raises like women in an aerobic course.
And it is a nightmare to imagine them all in yoga pants.
Should guys work their ab muscles until they hurt?
You shouldn’t work anything until it hurts. And bending with too much weight can make
you puke or poop.
That definitely ruins the fitness is healthy image.
There are CrossFit instructors who work people out so hard that their muscles explode.
You want muscles to pop out.
Not when the muscle cells literally explode, destroying the tissue and poisoning your kidneys.
You permanently lose muscle strength, and the scar tissue that grows back makes flabby
grandma arms look appealing.
I’ve never heard of someone blowing out their stomach muscles.
It’s called a hernia. And a guy who wants six pack abs should be careful, because surgical
scars do mess up the look.
I’ve heard you have to let your muscles rest between workouts to avoid overdoing it.
Yet we use our abdomen muscles for getting out of bed and carrying stuff.
Getting out of bed should never be a major exertion. If it is, stay in bed.
Can you over-do your ab workout?
You can over-do any muscle group. Do a dozen sit ups and rest. If it hurts, don’t do
any more until the next day or the day after.
