Bassett eDepreciation Home Page
Easily summarizes your critical data
Bassets eDepreciation includes a new feature called the Home Page.
The main purpose of the home page is to present seven summary reviews of your
critical data in a simple format, rather than sifting through many reports.
A refresh button allows for instant recalculation
of a single period, or any group of periods, in prior, current and future tax years.
Greater visibility is achieved with the powerful drill down feature
to easily view the detail behind each summary.
Let's take a look at each of the 7 views.
The first, "Depreciation"
displays the total number of assets,
purchase price,
prior accumulated, current period,
total depreciation, net book balance and year-to-date depreciation.
The "Active" summary displays the number
and total purchase price
of any asset that is actively depreciating.
The "Fully Depreciated" summary displays the number
and total purchase price
of any asset that has
a net book value of zero.
The "Acquisitions" summary
displays the number and total cost of any capital asset purchased.
The "Sales" summary
displays the number, total cost of assets
and the proceeds
for the capital assets sold.
The "Disposals" summary displays the number
and total dollar amount
of capital assets disposed.
The "Transfers" summary displays the number
and total cost
of capital assets transferred within the organization.
The calculated numbers in each of these summaries will be updated
when any of the Home Page variables are changed.
For example, if I change the tax year to 2012
in the Current Period and click the Refresh button,
you will see the displayed totals refresh.
Let's change the Period End to be January
and click the Refresh button to see the totals for a single period.
You can also change the Period Begin to April,
the Period End to June
and click the Refresh button to see the totals for the second quarter.
All the numbers we have seen so far
have been for the Financial Book schedule.
Select the IRS schedule and click Refresh
to see the federal tax totals.
You can also define an unlimited number of filters
to limit the set of assets
including the totals.
Additionally, you can drill down into the detail behind any one of these summaries
to see the
individual assets.
