...and they start swooping
and then comes Lars
Then you notice how fast it's going downwards when it should had started to plan out
and he slams hard
People started patting him
something that he probably doesn't respond well to...
so I bend down over him and say, "You are a F#@%ing loser!"
On the backside of the right side of his pelvis he sustained a fracture
and together with the pelvis fracture on the left side, he had to undergo surgery
in order to get him on his feet as quickly as possible, which they did in the hospital i Uppsala
One of the first visits I had in Uppsala was from Larfors
He had an accident which was a hundred times worse than the one I had
It's like I have a splinter in my finger in comparison
I broke my back in three places, I broke a femur, I crushed my pelvis, I punctured a lung, my liver was damaged
Three days after my accident a doctor wrote in my journal
that the hospital in Uppsala will not reserve a bed for me, because it doesn't look like I'm going to make it
Is it okey for us to be doing this, when most people who are injured today do so under fully functional canopies?
If you have choosen this sport, you have in some way also accepted the fact that you can hurt yourself severly
Swooping is nothing more than an advancement of the boundries which everbody who is into this sport have choosen to accept
Skydiving, horesback riding, downhill mtb.
Every time in life when people are doing something which involves higher risks, it's up to the person doing it
If you have been in a car accident, of course you will drive a car again
Lars didn't go to far, that's not the reason he was injured
He was just unlucky when he was thinking
The speed and thrill is ridiculously fun
To be able to do this with my best friends, there are few things I enjoy more
The first questions I got from my friends was, "Will you continue swooping?"
My answer was, "Of course!"
He was almost offended when I asked him
He said "But of course I'm going to continue!"
You need to have goals in life, If you don't have goals in life you will die slowly from within
Of course he should continue skydiving and swooping, he's really good at it
Okey, it was bad, but at least you haven't had cancer!
3 months after the accident
