Through the ARM Climate Research Facility, a comprehensive set of world-class instruments
is available for use by the global scientific community.
ARM instruments are deployed at 3 permanent ground sites,
elsewhere around the world with ARM Mobile Facilities, and in the air with the ARM Aerial Facility.
ARM instruments include one of the few operational Raman lidars in the world
millimeter-wavelength cloud radars, radar wind profilers, Doppler and micropulse lidars, and total sky imagers.
Other key members of ARM's suite of instruments are microwave radiometers and rotating shadowband spectrometers.
Enhancements from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act supplement these capabilities
with a new Raman lidar, new dual-frequency scanning cloud radars,
precipitation radars, surface flux stations, and aerosol sampling and airborne instrumentation.
