Hi, my name is Nathaniel and this is another 2-minute tip for affiliate
marketers, online business owners and internet entrepreneurs.
Today we are going to learn how to filter our own IP address from Google analytics.
A lot of times when your site first starts out it could be exciting to see 1 or 2 or
5 clicks because it means you're getting indexed and your getting ranked for things
but a lot of times these are your own clicks on the site so they don't really
mean anything. So to make sure analytics is not tracking
our own click we can filter out to our IP by clicking on the admin.
area and we are going to choose the account where our site is located then we
are going to choose filters.
We're gonna click on add new filter
and then give it a name. I'm gonna call it my IP filter,
gonna choose exclude traffic from the IP address
and we are gonna find our IP address.
We are gonna choose which profiles we want it to apply to.
Now I've got all my profiles named the same because I know what they're
associated with but you might have different names.
These are actually 3 different websites located in this 1 account.
We are going to click save and we're done. Now Google analytics will no longer track
traffic coming from the IP that we put in there and if you access your site from
several different locations like maybe
a coffeehouse or a friend's house or work you can also add more filters.
So thanks for watching.
