What did it mean to you to play in the 2008 Olympic Games?
It was a dream come true. I really wasn't expecting it
and because of the way it all turned out, we succeeded in reaching the final. The whole experience was amazing.
After that, I could happily retire because it was an experience I will never forget.
Why is Bar?a (FC Barcelona) more than just a club?
When I first got here, you used to hear that slogan a lot. I wanted to see if it was right and the truth is it really is.
It is more than just a club, it is the emotion that everyone feels for it.
For example, the other day, we went to see the Copa del Rey (King's Cup) in Valencia, which Madrid won,
and we saw the fans suffering along with the team and everything that went on there was really something special.
Unfortunately, Barca lost the final, but it was incredible what the fans felt during the whole game.
You have to experience that emotion from within to understand what this club means.
Who do you get along with best in the dressing room?
We all get along very well together in the dressing room, but I do get on particularly well with Victor Sada
as we are always talking about things we share in common.
He likes making guesses about things and having a gamble and we have a great time.
Joe Ingles arrived mid-season and is a young player, we both help each other out.
I get on well with everyone, but especially with these two.
So then, you would all like Betfair!
Yes, when I told Victor Sada I had an interview lined up with Betfair,
he asked me if we could open an account for him with a bit of money to play with.
Who do you get on with from the football team?
I have got to know Bojan because of a Nike ad and he comes to the Palau arena a lot
and I have also worked with Pique on a Nike ad and we chat.
Which moment would you say was the highlight of your career?
Choosing a particular moment is very difficult, but the Olympic Games were wonderful, a very special moment.
How do you achieve such maturity in your game at just 20 years of age?
I think you have to be pretty bold early on in life.
On the court, it shouldn't be an issue for you if you are playing with older people or not,
you have to love what you do and have the nerve to play the ball
and to know what is best for the team to try to achieve victory.
Would a possible NBA lockout affect your decision?
I haven't made any decisions, I wouldn't have a problem saying if I had, but I don't want to think about it.
The lockout issue is important because not playing for several months would be a big thing for me
and it is a decision to take into careful consideration, which I will do all the better later on when I know about the lockout.
Right now, I don't want to think about that so I can just focus on Barcelona.
Which NBA player would you sign up? (Pau Gasol is not an option)
Not a playmaker, that way he would have minutes.
It is hard... there are so many really good players.
If I couldn't have Pau Gasol then I would love Marc Gasol or Rudy Fernandez.
Who is your favourite NBA playmaker?
They all have lots of features and lots of good points.
I really like the talent shown by Rondo. Physically he is great and he reads the game really well.
This season, Derrick Rose will be the MVP. What he has done is incredible,
carrying the weight of a team both in terms of direction and as scorer,
just like Chris Paul. In this series against the Lakers,
it seems his injury is a thing of the past and he is destroying the competition.
Which player did you find surprising in the Euroleague?
Many, but especially Papaloukas.
When I played against him when I was younger he was an example to follow. I think what he does is incredible.
I was lucky enough to play against him when I was younger, when I was in Joventut and he was in CSKA,
and he seemed to me to be a formidable rival.
What are your goals for the future?
Right now, the team and myself are just thinking about
staying at the top of the regular league and winning the ACB title,
which we failed to do last year. It was the only title we did not win and it means such a lot to us.
Which team and which player would you say stand out in this ACB League?
It is a playoff. It is very difficult to say right now, there may be some surprises in store.
I think Real Madrid and Power Electronics Valencia are very strong contenders,
they have already shown that in the Euroleague: one reached the Final Four and the other was so very close. They are very tough rivals.
One player, Sergi Llull, I think he is maturing a lot and has an amazing talent.
Odds that Regal FC Barcelona will win the ACB League?
I couldn't say in terms of odds, but I have faith in my team.
If we play well, we have every chance
and I have every faith. We're going for it.
Regal Bar?a is Betfair's favourite to win the ACB League, although it was also the favourite to win the Euroleague...
We have to forget about the Euroleague,
but if Betfair says so then we are the favourites.
What do you feel when you play against DKV Joventut?
It's always special for me. 0:06:02:001,0:06:07.501 That is where I grew up, where I was given opportunities and I will always be grateful to them. 0:06:08:001,0:06:16.501 It is special because I still have friends who were cadets or juniors when I was there and now they are getting into their first team. 0:06:17:001,0:06:22.501 The excitement they feel reminds me of my own experience and I know what it is like to be there and it will always be something special for me. 0:06:23:001,0:06:26.201 Has the loss of Gianluca Basile and Pete Mickeal affected competition on the continent? 0:06:26:601,0:06:33.001 We will never know because they have not been around, we have not been fortunate enough to have them on board, 0:06:33:601,0:06:40.501 but I think that they are two players who contribute a lot both on and off the court. 0:06:41:001,0:06:47.901 They are winners from the outset, they have plenty of experience and help young people 0:06:49:001,0:06:54.601 and people who have lost their way to get back on track. 0:06:55:001,0:06:59.501 Last year they helped us a lot and this year they have not been able to because of injuries, but they were still around off the court. 0:07:00:001,0:07:06.501 On the court we miss them, but they were around off the court and they helped us a lot. 0:07:07:301,0:07:10.101 Ricky Rubio's bet for the Final Four 0:07:10:401,0:07:12.001 It's difficult. 0:07:13:001,0:07:17.101 Panathinaikos has reached a very good position and beat us. 0:07:18:101,0:07:20.701 I think they are very clear-minded. 0:07:21:201,0:07:26.201 I am betting on a Panathinaikos-Madrid final. After that, it is very difficult.
