Alright, so one of the most important things about gloves or mittens is to avoid iceburn.
What happens is, if you put your hands in that snow, snow is very, very cold. It's going
to leave a red mark on your hand, and you have the chance of it stinging for at least
fifteen minutes if you just barely put your hand in the snow. What you want to do is always
be wearing gloves. No matter the weather, no matter how hot it is, how cold it is, you
always want to have gloves on your hands. It's one of the most important things of outerwear.
So what we're going to talk about now is different styles of gloves. There's a couple different
styles, and what you want to do is dress accordingly. Look for the mountain you're going to, and
figure out which style you want from there. First style we're going to talk about is mittens.
Basically what happens is your four fingers are stuck together, pressed against each other.
And what that does is it creates warmth. You want to wear mittens on really cold, powdery
days. These are the best bet to keep your fingers the warmest. Next, on a little warmer,
still chilly days, you just want to wear normal gloves. These are just to help pretty much
protect you from your hand in the snow and cold. They're going to keep you warm, but
not as warm as mittens. The last style is called a liner. Basically, these are really,
really thin. You want to do these only in springtime, just basically so you avoid iceburn.
They're not going to keep your hands warm on a cold day, but, what you can do is, you
can wear liners and put them inside a mitten and it's going to keep your hands extra warm.
