being able to enrich
what we do through technology and engage students through technology is really
important as we move to 21st century learning.
To be able to actually take a class room from the Bentley Campus,
or from the Singapore Campus and connect them and connect them anyway to
Campuses within the world is a really exciting opportunity, builds in a really
inter-cultural curriculum and experience so our graduates will go out to the
workforce
anywhere in the world in already have had that into cultural operation level,
The first thing is we would ask you to attend the Foundations Of Learning
and Teaching
workshop where there's different modules around
the introduction to teaching at Curtin, how to engage students
actively, how to have a a strong foundation around student
assessment, and a number of other things. After that
we would be offering a collaborative learning workshop so you could actually
come and engage
in a I guess a modeled approach to collaborative learning where
we show you how you would develop your curriculum to engage students
and then we would actively model that within a classroom with the technology
that's in the classroom. If you were going to be engaging in a distributed learning
environment we would offer you some support around
professional learning for distributing learning so that would be
if I'm going to teach in a class room that has video conferencing equipment
in it
how do I actually engage the far end students as effectively as I would
work with my face-to-face students. When you walk in that classroom
from day one of semester you have you'll be offered
an AV IT support person who can come in and work with you
at the start of your lesson to make sure that you know how to use the
technology.
If you haven't had a chance to come to the professional learning workshops
thee is that just-in-time approach to AV support.
The professional learning programs that we offer in most cases after that initial
workshop
then we develop a professional learning community
and we we continue that through, like a community of learners so that they
can be
supported by their peers and by us through their whole teaching
semester.
