The lights are on, the
people have arrived.
Church is back in
session at Lancaster
First Assembly of God
under the direction of
Senior Pastor Wendell
Johnson. Senior Pastor
Wendell Johnson:
"It's an exciting day, it's
an exciting day. Just
this week alone I had a
volunteer crew and
we've put in 70-75
hours trying to get
everything ready."
This after last October
when a fire destroyed
several areas of the
church, forcing services
to relocate.
"It totally filled smoke
in this whole building.
So for the past 22
weeks we've been
dislocated at another
location."
But flash forward 5
months.. and Pastor
Wendell walked out to
this congregation of
more than 300 people.
And of course there
was no better way to
start his sermon than
by taking a few selfies.
"We're just amazed.
We took advantage of
a bad situation."
A bad situation turned
good.. The church
added several new
pieces and even
knocked out a wall
creating more room for
worshipers.
"I'd like to invite
everyone and anyone
that's looking for a
church home. We'd
love to have you."
Even though the fire
took its toll on the
church.. Pastor Wendell
says it didn't destroy
the spirits of these
people.. who are now
able to call this
sanctuary home once
again.
