In today’s episode of The Big Vision Show, we’re going to talk about how to decrease
refunds or get people to stick in your programs.
Hi there, my name’s Max Simon and welcome to The Big Vision Show. This is all about
how you can reach more people and thrive financially.
In today’s episode, Nicole asks, “I’m doing a good job of getting people into my
programs, but I can’t seem to get them to stick and they keep refunding. What can I
do?”
Awesome question Nicole and I have some great advice for you on this. Don’t take it personally,
it’s important to realize that people always back out no matter how powerful you are, no
matter how great your programs are; inevitably, statistically some people are always going
to drop out. So first and foremost just don’t take it personally. The next thing is there’s
three specific things you can do to increase the chances of people sticking through to
their commitment once they join their program.
The first is actually just to have a dialogue about commitment with them. You see, whether
you have a one-on-one conversation or you’re in a webinar or whatever it is, when somebody
decides to invest, they feel excited, they feel motivated and ultimately that energy
is going to fade pretty quickly back into the reality of their everyday life. So as
quickly as possible, whether it’s face to face or video or in e-mail you want to address
the fact that they’ve made this commitment and it’s likely their energy will shift
or waver a little bit, and that’s normal, it’s okay. You need to remind people to
stay true, stay committed to the decision that they’ve already made because that will
then give them permission, when they start to waver and doubt themselves, to say, oh
this is a normal part of the process and that’s right they reminded me, just stick with the
decision that I’ve already made.
The second thing you can do is to give them something to do immediately. So right once
they say yes, give them a series of videos or some exercises or some homework or get
on the phone and do a session with them. Do something as quickly as possible that gets
them in the energy of moving forward because then, they’ll get out of their fear and
hesitation into momentum. Once people are moving forward, then they don’t really want
to back out because they feel like they’re making progress.
And the third thing, which I’m sure you can do so well but maybe haven’t thought
of, is be their champion. You see, so many times we join programs or we decide to surround
ourselves with new kinds of information and then our environments or our fears or all
sorts of stuff starts to say, that’s not a good idea, it’s not a good idea. And they
just don’t have anybody that truly believes in them that wants them to succeed. So be
that person, you know when they say I want a refund, say are you sure because I so badly
want you in this program, I think you have so much potential and we’re going to do
such great work together. Be their champion and become a higher vibration, a higher enthusiasm,
a higher level of support than they can be for themselves because oftentimes that will
get people re-committed back into, oh, that’s right, I made this decision because I wanted
to grow and evolve.
So, those are the three steps for today. Address commitment head on. Give them something to
do immediately and be their champion. Do those three things and you will watch as your refund
rates go down and the commitment levels of the people you’re serving go way up.
