In this video I show you how to make this half circle bead wrapped earring.
To get started you will need: 1 metal bangle, 20 gauge wire, some medium sized beads.
This is a great project and can be made in a "slow and easy" half hour.
So, cut two 3 3/4" pieces from your bangle.
How to measure a circular hoop or bangle.
Take a piece of cord...
lay it on top of your bangle...
snip where it overlaps...
lay the cord against a ruler and mark off the length you need.
snip the measure of cord...
lay on top of your hoop or bangle and...
cut the bangle same length as cord.
With needle nose pliers make inward facing loops on both bangle pieces.
Measure out 12" of 20 gauge wire.
Feed one of the beads about a couple of inches onto the wire.
Twist the wire about twice around.
Once
twice
then snip the shorter wire off.
Use your flat nosed pliers to firmly attach the bead to the metal piece...
by twisting and pulling the wire around (with the pliers) around the metal bangle piece
Then begin to wrap around the base of the bead - above the metal bangle piece but at the bottom of the bead.
Wrap until you cover the bottom part of the bead part way up the bead.
Repeat the same process for the next bead and the bead after that.
Its a simple and quick process... with beautiful results.
A metal bangle embellished in this same way would be a perfect match for these earrings.
