Hi, I'm Inanc from Turkey and for Week 3 of Introduction to Music Production at Coursera, I will present Automation Practical.
I will use FL Studio as the DAW.
Let's start by opening the mixer.
This is the mixer view of the tracks.
The first one is the Master track,
followed by Keys,
Drums,
Bass
and another track which I called 'Modx'.
Let's first play the whole audio.
We start by adding a new pattern to the step sequencer.
Let's call it 'Drums Automation'.
Then we select 'Insert' by right clicking to which track we wish to add an automation clip
and then select 'Automation clip' from the list.
We can then insert into the playlist. In effect, this step is optional, for FL Studio records any movement in the mixer as an automation.
Let's record the automation by clicking the record button
then selecting 'Automation & score'.
Let's first turn down the volume of Drums from the mixer,
now we can turn it up little by little to give the fade in effect.
Let's fade out now.
The automation has now been created, as it can be seen in Track 6.
Let's listen the audio now.
Thank you for watching ! I will appreciate any feedback.
