This video is an introduction to Referencing Personal Communications in your assignment
or report in UWS Harvard Style.
A personal communication can be an unpublished lecture
an interview or a conversation.
In all these situations you are citing notes you have taken.
Remember to ensure that you have the author’s
permission to use their thoughts and ideas in your assignment.
You will need to record:
The Date you recorded the information The Company or institution Name
and the Person’s name for example who did you get the information from?
The Department or Unit details
Do not include this in the reference list as there is no recoverable data.
Here are some examples of in-text citations for information obtained from a personal communication:
